KS3 Curriculum for Year 7 to Year 12

In Y7, Y8 and Y9 students study a varied selection of topics from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Learning is based on the Collins Science at KS3 course and allows students to develop key skills such as Thinking Scientifically, considering the Effects of Society on Science, Communication and Collection of Scientific data, Scientific Investigation and how to conduct an Evaluation in Science. Al Yasmina School Science department aims to lay a solid foundation to progress onto our Key Stage 4 courses in Science.

KS4 Curriculum for Years 10, 11

At the moment, students at Key Stage 4 (Y10 and Y11) follow the Edexcel IGCSE Double Award Science curriculum. Students enjoy access to specialist teachers in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in order that they receive the best exposure to the three disciplines that make up our IGCSE Double Award Science qualification.

Learning takes place in a well resourced department with time devoted to both the theoretical and practical side of Science that gives our students that "hands-on" element required to progress at post-16 level.
