Welcome to I.C.TKS3 Curriculum for Year 7 to Year 12
Students in KS3 follow the National Curriculum of England in ICT; developing a range of transferable ICT skills in word processing, presentations, spreadsheet development, database development and desktop publishing. There is also an opportunity for students to use cutting edge technology to create animations, group video productions and graphic designs. Activities are in the context of real life examples and business scenarios, creating an awareness of the application of ICT in the real world. KS3 National Curriculum Descriptors KS4 Curriculum for Years 10, 11Students at Key Stage 4 complete the IGCSE in ICT following the Edexcel specification. It aims to encourage the exploration and study of ICT in a variety of contexts: home, community, business, industry, recreation and education. In any given situation students will have the opportunity to acquire competence, ability and critical skills through the implementation, use and evaluation of a range of ICT systems. The course enables students to build on ICT skills which they have developed at Key Stage 3, developing ICT-based solutions to address challenges and solve problems, develop an understanding and awareness of current and emerging technologies and an awareness of the legal, social, ethical and environmental consequences of the use of ICT systems for individuals, organisations and society. |
