KS3 Curriculum for Year 7 to Year 12

Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 follows the National Curriculum of England guidelines.

At Al Yasmina we offer the following subjects Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food Technology, Electronics and Textiles. Pupils learn to be creative thinkers, combine practical and technical skills, use a range of Computer Aided Design tools and Computer Aided Machinery to design and make a variety of products.

KS4 Curriculum for Years 10, 11

GCSE Design and Technology follows the Edexcel examination board specification. This is a two year course and we are currently able to offer Resistant Materials and Graphics. In Y10 students undertake a variety of mini focused based practical tasks which prepare them for their transition into Y11.

In Y11 students complete two units, unit one consists of a final major practical project and a portfolio of evidence worth 60% of the final grade and unit two consists of one examination worth 40% of the final grade.
