The final two years of school - which are not part of compulsory education - are spent in Key Stage 5, which at Al Yasmina is known as Post-16. During these two years students study towards their A levels, beginning with AS (advanced subsidiary) in Year 12 and moving onto A2 (advanced) in Year 13. Each part makes up 50 per cent of the overall A level grade.
Subjects can be taken at an academic or BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) level. BTEC is a vocational qualification. The number of subjects chosen depends on GCSE marks. Details of standard entry level requirements can be found in the Post-16 Handbook.
